Tony Takeover, Pepperoni Pizza

Emily and I were wondering if you would be interested in an occasional Tony Takeover. Every once in a while I would post a blog instead of Emily. You would get a glimpse into our lives told from a whole different perspective. I know it’s going to be fun for me, and I hope it’s fun for you. Let me and Emily know what you think about this idea in the comments. And now, for a story.

This story is about communication. It is very cliché to say that communication is key, but some clichés are pretty accurate. Over all Emily and I communicate pretty, but we are also both people pleasers. This usually helps out a lot in our marriage, but sometimes having two people pleasers and a lack of communication in a relationship really backfires. Enter the story of The Pepperoni Pizza.

College was a great time for Emily and me. We worked hard, we had a lot of fun in Athens, Ga (which I have a few other stories about if you are interested), but the one thing we were short on was money. We didn’t really know we were short on cash, and we were always able to make our budget work, but, when a great deal for pizza came around, we couldn’t/wouldn’t pass it up. The Papa John’s in Athens had such a deal. You could get a large one topping pizza for $3.99 on Tuesdays (I imagine this is no longer the case, but it would be awesome if it were). So, a lot of Tuesdays Emily and I ate pizza. But, before you order a pizza, a common discussion takes place, “What kind of pizza do you want?”

For Emily and I, whoever replied to the “what kind of pizza” question, would allows reply with, “I don’t know, what do you want?” (A common answer, I’m pretty sure.) And now the problem has set in. Emily and I are now intertwined in a delicate and sophisticated people pleasing dance. My goal, no, my job is to try and guess what kind of pizza she wants; all the while, trying to keep a poker face so as to keep her from guessing my pizza topping of choice. The curse of the people pleasers is that if you are the one that is pleased, you have lost the game, and, with Emily and me, it was a battle.

One point in our past, I remember Emily ordering pepperoni pizza. She seemed to like pepperoni pizza. So, when Emily would ask, “What kind of pizza do you want?” I would answer, “pepperoni.” And you for the longest time, we would get a pepperoni pizza for the basement bargain deal of $3.99 on Thursdays. And we were both happy with it.

Unfortunately, Emily and I were not really happy with the pizza. We were happy because we both thought we had won the people pleaser battle. I picked a topping I knew she liked, she got me to tell her which topping I wanted. We were both happy and ate pepperoni pizza, content in the fact that the other enjoyed it. And here enters the communication breakdown (yes, that is a nod to Led Zeppelin). I don’t really like pepperoni, but I thought she did. Emily doesn’t really like pepperoni, but she thought I did. We had been eating pepperoni pizza for at least 4 months (it might be closer to six), before one of us, I think it was Emily, finally confessed her true feelings.

We ate pizza we didn’t really like for months!! All because we couldn’t/wouldn’t communicate. So yes, communication is key, and I don’t care how cliché it sounds. It could have saved me and my taste buds months of eating pepperoni pizza if I had only told Emily, “you know, I’m not actually a big fan of pepperoni. Why don’t we try something else.” So please communicate with those around you, it could really save you, or, in my case, at least save your taste buds.

We didn’t eat pepperoni pizza for years after that. But here’s the kicker, it’s our kids favorite. We get it all the time now.

So yeah, there’s a small taste of tales from my perspective. If you want to hear more, let me know. And, as always, thanks for reading.

  1. I love the Tony Takeover! You’re just as awesome as your wife!!

Also loved this story… I’m also very much an “I don’t know, what do YOU want?” kind of person, ensuring that we both go hungry for hours until someone gives in.

    1. I loved it! And I hope to hear more from Tony take over on a regular basis. I love Dr. Emily post too So it would be great to hear from both of you! I hate pepperoni myself but I could relate because my husband loved it so we ate it! Then I found out one day it gives him indigestion just like me so we tried other pizzas after about four years of this!

      1. At our age 68 and 84 we get the pizza we like and we can compromise at times. I’m happy to read a blog from Tony or Emily! I love your stories.

    2. The Tony Takeover idea is great. I loved reading about the pepperoni story. You two are awesome- keep up the good work! Cheers!

    3. The Tony Takeover Sounds like a great idea.. I loved reading about the pepperoni story. You two are awesome- keep up the good work! Cheers!

    4. I loved the Tony takeover, and of course the storyline, hilarious on pizza toppings, I did the same thing, I don’t care for mushrooms but my husband loves them, didn’t say a word for years to him, finally did, and he still orders pizza with mushrooms, go figure, the compromise I made was the extra cheese, lol, keep the stories coming, I truly enjoy reading the blog 😊

    5. Everyone absolutely loves your family. I enjoy every word you write. Both of you. Sooner or later Emily won’t be on the Dr Pol shows. Thank goodness for reruns. Please simply write about anything and everything. Post pictures of those ADORABLE children. Your beautiful family became a part of our lives.

  2. I think hearing from you both would be wonderful, a fuller picture of the same stories so to speak.

    1. My husband is the “whatever you like, I will eat anything”. Then when I tell him what I ordered it’s always “oh, I dont like that”. He learned early on to let me know or he was eating spinach broccoli and ricotta white pizza. Most days though our kids choices win out and they are 17. It’s nice to hear from you instead of your wife…different perspective

      1. Thank you, it feels to be writing. I’ve never had a ricotta white pizza, but spinach and broccoli sound good

    1. That’s an awesome idea! Getting to know both of you would be great! It’s a great blog and something I look forward to reading!

  3. Maybe an idea to get your own blog, next to Emily’s one. Just an idea , before I get the load of haters here all over me once again…….

    1. I agree. I think you should have separate blogs. Tony writes very well too. I love his taste of music ,LZ.
I don’t think he got credit on Dr. Pols show…

  4. Love the stories!! I wouldn’t mind hearing a little from Tony also. I think it’s a really good idea!!

  5. Love your story’s know matter who they come from.Nice to keep up on your life.Your missed

  6. Sure Tony, stories from your college days at UGA would be great…..and if you can get away it, some “embarrassing” stories about Emily?
    Larry…..GO DAWGS!

  7. I enjoyed reading the Tony Takeover and fully get the people -pleaser mode, having been one for 65 years. What helped me greatly was a book from the 70’s called “Don’t Say Yes When You Want to Say No” about assertiveness, still in print, and I recommend it to my college students. That and remembering a scene from Disney’s cartoon movie Robin Hood where 2 cockney -accented vultures keep asking each other “what ya wanna do?” Classic!

  8. That’s a great story and a great reminder on properly communicating with your spouse. I’m horrible with telling my wife what I truly feel. Thanks for this!
A Tony Takeover is good thing once in a while!

  9. Yes, I enjoyed hearing a story from Tony and would in the future. I am really enjoying the brief glimpse into your lives

  10. I would love to hear from Tony, too. You both will be missed on Dr. Pol. I’m watching the new.season now and you guys are still there. Thank you for doing your blog. That way we.can still have you in our families.

  11. Tony, I look forward to Dr. Emily’s blog and I would enjoy reading your contributions as well. Great slice-of-life stories with humor that provides an “I’ve been there feeling.”

  12. I think it’s a great idea. I like the stories and that the both of you are sharing with us about your lives.

Thank you. You both seem to be an awesome couple. Good luck to you, Emily and your children . Keep the blogs coming

  13. I think it would be awesome to have both of you chiming I’m on here…just please mark that it’s you Tony when you do and not Emily, 😉. I get confused easily, lol

  14. Yes – please post stories also. With all the harshness going on in the world today, it’s nice to read your stories which always make me smile!

  15. Would love to get a different perspective. I really want to know why, no matter what the weather in Michigan, you wore cargo shorts! 😂

    1. I actually had a system. If school closed, I wore pants. If school was open, that meant the roads were clear (enough) and I could wear shorts. I wore shorts because I worked inside. I was usually the manual labor guy. A big dog, Tony’ll pick it up, a bad dog, Tony’ll hold it. I would get so hot every day

  16. The more stories the better. Would love to hear the same story from each of you (different perspective ) just like this story. Glad you are loving your new situation with work!

  17. Absolutely!! Would enjoy hearing life’s story from a man’s view. Of course, we women would always know the real story!! Right Dr. Emily????

  18. Loved the story!!
I think it would be great to hear from both of you!!! You are a wonderful couple.

  19. Variety is the spice of life. Hearing grom you would be great. Let us know what you are up to these days in Virginia. 👍

  20. Yeah, takeovers are a fun idea! I love pepperoni pizza, but otherwise totally feel what you’re saying.

  21. Oh yes, Tony. Your perspective is unique to you. Perhaps you could each take one event in your lives and write about it from your own perspective??? 1 event, 2 takes on that event could be fun for us and hopefully not too embarrassing for you both – LOL.

  22. Lol why did it not occur to you both to get 1/2 one way and 1/2 another? It’s still one topping. 😂

  23. Love both perspectives! Maybe a Tony and Emily Q&A would be fun. You could ask each other questions and help communication 😉

  24. Please regale us Tony. This is a fun blog. I hope you all are happy and doing well in VA. Best Wishes. ~

  25. I think it’s great to hear from your other half. it’s nice to get an insight to the others thoughts

  26. loved your takeover….you both are so down to earth….loved you guys on dr. pol…hope you are both still sooooo happy in VA

  27. Read it, liked it. I think if Tony would invite me to eat pizza with them for one meal, I’ll screen the rest of the college stories and pick the best for first. Emily, what the hell were you thinking ?

  28. Our communication consists of:
Him-“Where do you want to eat?”
    Me-“Olive Garden would be nice”
    Him-“Oh, look! There’s an Applebee’s “
    * turns in to Applebee’s *
    Me-*shrug*

  29. Read it, liked it. I think if Tony would invite me to eat pizza with them for one meal, I’ll screen the rest of the college stories and we can pick the best for the first.

  30. We really never got to know Tony. You were always behind the scenes on Dr. Pol. What I enjoy the most are the stories of the children witty Oscarisms, stories on the animals. Emily is very good at telling her truth’s, so Tony If your as good as Emily, bring it. 😂

  31. There’s a famous short story by O. Henry called “The Gift of the Magi”. It’s about a young married couple in a situation similar to yours. You should read it!
Fun to hear from you as well, Tony.

  32. Is Emily okay with it? Lol Enjoy reading both blogs so will be delighted to hear from both of you

  33. Tony that was funny and so true for many of us people pleasers. Communication is the key in life but really in a relationship it is the foundation.
I for one wouldn’t mind at all hearing from you time to time.
    Have blessed day

  34. I love the Tony takeover.!

Also I want to thank you both so much for the look into your lives. I am sure that it can be very pressing and aggravating to have people constantly examining your lives. I look forward to reading the next blogs that you all share with us!

  35. Tony I really enjoyed your blog and got a good chuckle from it.
My Husband Roger abs I ate the same way, both people pleasers!
For instance he loves chicken and dumplings, I don’t care fir them, I grew up eating them but our Mother made them very seldom( thank goodness).
She made the big fluffy dumplings ( gag),
My Husband being a southerner grew up eating the flat rolled out dumplings.
I decided one day to make them fir him but told him I didn’t know how to make the dumplings, he told me to go to the grocery store and but the frozen one’s.
I’ve made these several times, he eats 2 or 3 bowls and always tells me how good they are.
6 weeks ago I made them my usual way, our Daughter and Son in law ate with us and she tells me, these are good but I like the big fluffy dumplings better and I thought that’s what you were making when to my utter shock and amazement my Husband says so do I , what , gasp are you kidding me ?
For over 8 years you’ve ate them and told me how good they were and I had no idea you don’t like the flat rolled out dumplings, why didn’t you tell me ?
Because I didn’t want you to go out of your way for me.
So in all this I agree, we need to communicate better.
Keep sharing the blog Tony, I look forward to to reading yours also.

  36. Yes, I would love to hear from tonys world also. I do love hearing the perspective from my favorite vet. These stories are so very interesting. Thanks for sharing

  37. Yes continue with takeover stories sometimes!
Love both.!! Best wishes you both are wise and honest….

  38. A blog post from either of you is great! Love the pizza story! I am married for almost 41 years now and communication is key….or, at least one decisive person in the relationship. 😊

  39. Yes definitely Tony should post too!! I love these stories and to be honest Dr Emily is my favorite of the Pol vets, I really hope she stays with the show. But if that should change good luck in all you do!!

  40. Wow…..2 writers/bloggers/comediennes in the family? Heck yeah I want to read more from you. No offense to your lovely better half but it’s nice to hear from the other side. Because there are always 2 sides to every story. BTW we get pepperoni pizza because my better half loves it. I take it off my slices and pile it on his. Happy husband. Happy wife. Even happier tastebuds.😉

  41. Hi Tony!!! Yes, we would love to hear from you as well! I enjoyed the shows when you were helping Emily!

  42. Lol! Sounds like my husband and I! Yes, I would love to read some of your perspectives, Tony. Great blog. You two are an excellent team. Carry on….

  43. I would love to hear from Tony too. You guys should write a book together when you have time. I would like to know what Tony took in college and if he is a bit Tech and what he is doing now that you have changed jobs. Is he able to work at the same place as you are?

  44. Love the Tony Takeover. Look forward to reading more. Your marriage seems to be destined by heaven. I hope you continue to have a blessed marriage.

  45. It’s nice to hear from Tony also. There’s usually two sides to everything. We love pepperoni and mushroom here.

  46. Love to hear from Tony. So important that you two are participating together in this next step in your life.

  47. Yes, awesome to hear from both of you on what makes team Thomas tick and click!

Thanks for sharing your selfs and life both good and not always pleasant with us, your fans.

  48. I think it is a fantastic idea. It is always good to hear about your family and it appears you have funny and interesting stories to tell. Plus i am sure it will spark some interesting comments from Emily as well.
As i am like you guys personality wise, i will probably really enjoy it ans learn something too. Lol.

  49. HAHAHA!! Yes, we would love to hear more from you, Tony! This had me rolling! We’ve always enjoyed you two on Doc Pol. Love knowing that we can still keep up with you guys! Thanks for the blog and the fun laughs!

  50. My wife and I have been married for 53 years and I understand the dance of the people pleaser!
    Thank You for sharing!

  51. Anything about Georgia and Bulldogs and vet stuff is great for me. Food is good too. Good job Tony.

  52. Hi Guys, I loved your post and thinks it’s a great idea for Tony to share his thoughts with the group!

  53. Such a true story for all of us people pleasers. Lol! Love hearing from your perspective. It takes 2 to have a good marriage and I think you both will have a long happy one! Blessings.. ❤

  54. Loved the Tony Takeover … and unfortunately am all too familiar with trying to figure out what the other person wants. Two people pleasers in one household! A lot of nice going on 😂

  55. I love the Tony takeover, I enjoy hearing your voice too. You and Emily are such a wonderful loving couple. Thank you for taking the time to share a little of your busy lives with us.

  56. That is so funny and much more common than you might think. A few years after my mom died daddy and I were talking. I said how much I missed her cooking and we both mentioned a few faves and the I mentioned her pot roast. He looked at me and said he never really cared for it. WHAT?? We had it every other week and wiped it out. They had been married for over 40 years and he never liked her pot roast – yes communication is key. Looking forward to more stories from both of you.

  57. OMG
    Funniest post ever!!! 🤣
    I can relate!!! I’m a ppl pleaser too! 😟
    MORE posts from Tony please!!!
    Yahoo!

  58. You share everything else, might as well share the blog. You’re part of who makes Emily who she is. Plus, for future reference, pizza places will usually make half the pizza her topping and the other half your favorite. But remember, when you eat pepperoni, you’re supporting a pig farmer.

  59. Great communication story! My twin sister and I often engage in that people-pleaser dance! As for Tony takeover… Yes! In fact, I was going to ask Emily what’s going on with Tony? Is he working in VA? Is he a vet tech? What other jobs has he had in the past? Any other interests (other than animals and kids)? Thanks!

  60. You go Tony! Love the idea. You two are some of my favorite people!
    Keep on posting for sure.

  61. Yes, keep up with the Tony Takeover. Hearing from you additionally will be great! Fantastic job to you both.

  62. Hi Tony! I, for one, would enjoy TonyTakeovers any time you feel tempted to do so! You and your family are like family to your followers.

  63. I love the stories from both of you. My husband and I are people pleasers. We solved our dilemma by getting a pizza half cheese and half pepperoni. I am looking forward to more stories from both of your perspective. Your stories being back a lot of memories of our younger married years….😁

  64. I definitely like hearing from you both! That pepperoni just keeps coming back to haunt you two, lol.

  65. I do like to hear Tony’s comments and his perspective.

What might be fun is to have you both post on the same subject in the same blog. A conversation with a back and forth opinion but not an argument.

Look forward to the blogs but don’t let it occupy too much of your time.

  66. Just out of curiosity, what are your favorite toppings? Did you end up liking the topping after all?

  67. Hello, I’m from Saskatchewan, Canada. I absolutely LOVE you both and I love your blogs. You are down to earth. I love the honesty. Keep up the great work 💖💖

  68. For almost twenty years my mother cooked liver and onions🤢 on Wednesday nights . Finally one night he said to my mother that he really didn’t like liver and onions! We kids were thrilled as none of would eat it any ways, and it never was served again!

  69. I enjoy reading what both if you have written!! If any of the kids want to tell a story I’m up for that too.

  70. Absolutely!! Would love a Tony Takeover!! Would love to hear perspective from you both!! Love this blog. You two are so cute together. Don’t get me wrong, I love Emily’s view on things but yes, it would be nice to hear your side too, Tony!! So, Takeover away!! Can’t wait to hear from you again. I know the pizza story very well. Hubby likes the Hawaiian pizza. I love pineapple but not on my pizza. So, I pick it off. Now, I might suggest something else like a combination. If he wants his Hawaiian, or anything else, thats what we get. See, my husband is dying from Huntington’s disease. I usually let him pick, what to watch on TV, what pizza we are going to have or a lot of other things. Just so he can have some sort of control in life because he is losing his memory, his balance and a lot of other things. Thank you two for being you. The blog is great and I get to smile a bit and maybe laugh too. Take care, the both of you and be happy. And keep them coming. It’s very enjoyable!!

  71. YES!! I enjoy Dr. Emily’s blogs but would love to hear from Tony once in a while too!! Love this idea!

  72. I love the Tony Takeover!! You are very good at blogging too. I’m a people pleaser as well and my husband and I have that same conversation whenever we eat out or get take out lol.

  73. You both are great writers and share your experiences very well. I vote for you both to blog whenever the muse hits you. I enjoy reading them. You are the first blog I have ever read or subscribed to, since my husband and I own all Dr. Pol videos on Prime Time you are part of our extended family. I’m 79 He is 92. Thanks for the good times and now we can extend them through your blog.

  74. I think it’s a great idea to hear your stories about your family. Enjoyed the read. Look forward to more. Hi Emily!

  75. Yes! I would enjoy more from your point of view! I can relate to the people pleasing couple situation too!

  76. TONY TAKEOVER IS GREAT, BUT BE SURE TO LET US KNOW WHICH OF YOU IS BLOGGING.
AND I HEAR YOU ON DECIDING WHAT AND WHERE TO EAT, WE GO THROUGH THAT ALL THE TIME.

  77. Tony I loved your story. I’m not just being a people pleaser by saying I would enjoy more of your writings. 😊

  78. Takeover Tony sounds good. As I asked before, are you a Vet also? I know what ya’ll mean. When I ask the question my husband usually goes for the “I don’t care”, “whatever you think” etc… I just want a yes or no answer. Men.

  79. Thanks Tony, love to hear from you. Both of you are great to listen to. It’s like having you over for the evening and sitting around the kitchen table talking.

  80. Yes, I’d love to hear again what Tony has to say. I’m very interested in hearing about your family.

  81. I’d love to hear from Tony, too. I always wondered how many pancakes YOU ate in the pancake eating contest, Tony? Thanks for sharing your thoughts, experiences, and pics. Your family seems adorable & fun!

  82. I love the Tony takeover!! It’s great. Please do more. I’m a people pleaser too, so I can relate. Don’t forget Emily, you post too!!! 💜😍

  83. I would very much enjoy hearing from Tony, too. I’d like to know how it is to live with a vet who comes home after having a great day of getting a live calf out of a cow who had trouble giving birth as well as after having a heartbreaking day of losing an animal such as a young adult horse. Does Dr. Emily celebrate with you and cry on your shoulder or keep it all to herself?

  84. Tony, that would be great, we know you well enough by now, your slant/perspective would be delightful. When newly married and in Navy our budget was tight too…….so coupons it was to order a pizza and we would save more by picking it up. I was pregnant and we both were tired and thankful for a coupon! Hubby left for pizza and left the coupon on the counter……paying full price for a pizza was life ending………add the pregnancy hormones and that pizza was thrown against the kitchen wall before our discussion was over. COMMUNICATION is a skill you must embrace and work on or create a ‘pass word’ to use to redirect when words go wrong, don’t wait until you a knocking on the 50th year of marriage before you work on that skill!

  85. I would love to hear Tony’s perspective. Really enjoyed the pizza story. Keep them coming!

  86. By all means, Tony, keep writing! I think we’ve all fallen in love with your beautiful wife, and would love to learn more about you as well.

  87. I don’t mind the idea Of an occasional Sharing of the blog Space at all. I look forward to many more Family stories ❤️

  88. Yes, I would welcome your side of the stories too! You and Emily are really captivating. I loved seeing you two and the kids on Dr Pol, actually a favorite for me. So bring it on Tony, the more the merrier with you two. ❤️

  89. Love hearing from Tony’s point of view. Keep it up. Love both blogs!!!

  90. Welcome to Virginia, neighbor! Yes, the Tony takeover is a great idea. By the way, FR has a great variety of places to eat including a great coffee shop downtown. Enjoy!

P.S. What type of pizza you guys REALLY like?

    1. Thanks for welcoming us. We haven’t made it to the coffee shop yet, but we’ve been to the bakery downtown. They have some pretty good pies

  91. We sure do miss you two at Dr. Pols but are so very glad you are settled and Emily is, I’m sure, feeling much better about life. I for one, would be super please to hear from you any time you feel up to the challenge of writing a blog. Thank you the first of many I hope. Looking forward to hearing more from both of you! Have a great year.

  92. I think a ‘Tony Takeover’ is a great idea. Getting a guy’s perspective, even though it’s not needed in most situations, could be fun. And by fun, I mean comical. 😏

  93. Would love to read “Tony Takeovers” 🙂 and this from someone who likes pepperoni and pineapple and jalapeno pizza lol. Good post.

  94. Tony you can write anytime it pleases you. I enjoyed the pizza story. I’m sure you must have more funny/fun things to say.

  95. Thanks for that story Tony. I love reading Emily’s posts and I equally enjoyed reading yours this time. In other words, go for your idea to shake things up a bit. Stories from both perspectives are fantastic!

  96. Would love a Tont Takeover every now & then.. It’s fun to hear someone else’s viewpoint

  97. Hey Tony! I’m thinking it would be great for you to mirror Dr. Emily’s stories. Like the wedding story…if we could hear what was going through your head to propose and how the wedding went from YOUR perspective that would be awesome!

  98. Yes I would love to hear stories from you Tony. It’s always interesting to hear from the other half.

  99. This pizza story is hilarious! When my husband and I were dating, we experienced the same thing. Only ours was with mushrooms. We dated for a YEAR before we had our confession to each other.
Love the blog, and love the twist. Thank you both for sharing.

  100. Emily, I am fine with a Tony Takeover from time to time. You are both good storytellers. I am enjoying this blog immensely!

  101. The occasional Tony Takeover would be awesome! As an honor to pizza Tuesday – The triple T – Tony Takeover Tuesday. Loved your post and it relates with my life of 30+ years of marriage.
    Good luck with everything!

  102. Love the Tony Take Over!!!

Communication is very important in a relationship. Love reading both your post.

  103. Great Story Tony!
I’ve been married for 26 years & have never thought about it like that…I just figured we were an indecisive lot😂
You are absolutely correct! Communication is key👍🏼

  104. I have watched your family on Dr Pol the entire time you were there. I appreciate and admire many things, such as Dr Emily’s desire and dedication to a career that beats gender norms and also to your desire and dedication to your family which also defies gender norms. I enjoy reading both of your stories.

    1. Thank you, and maybe I’ll do a Tony Takeover about those about our family as they relate to gender norms. Spoiler: we don’t fit many of the “norms.” =)

  105. I chuckled at this because my husband and I used to do the same – and when our children came along we bought pepperoni pizza for them too. But my husband unfortunately died young, and now our sons are grown, so we make homemade pizza with daddy’s favorite toppings in his honor, with a few additions of our own. OMG, it’s so tasty!

Always enjoyed seeing you on Dr Pol, and love the blog – very humanly funny! Glad we can still check in on you.

  106. Good point! My husband and I are also like that: ” I don’t know, what do YOU want?” We’ve been happily married for over 30 years, so there’s hope. Lol.
Tony take over days are good. I like getting a different perspective.

  107. Absolutely! Would love to know more about your career path & how & why you decided to do what you do. Love Dr. Emily & her no nonsense approach (i.e. her last post). Good for her! I enjoy the blog & look forward to new posts. Thank You!

  108. I would LOVE to read Tony’s Takeover anytime!! I have always watched Dr. Pol ever since it first aired! I loved Dr. Emily, she us a very hard working vet! Also so when Tony started at the clinic! You two are fantastic!
Anyone can see how happy you both are! Please continue with your “takeover” Tony! It was great to hear from you as well! AND…IF you decide to start your own blog, let me know!

  109. That would be an awesome idea! Get the man side of things! Let the testosterone out and tell the story from a man’s point of you.

    Awesome,
    Dwayne C.
Florida Transplant from the Mountains of Virginia (Born and Bred)

  110. Been married for 30 something years, LOL ..actually 38 to be exact. I can not tell you how many times each of us assumed (you know what the say about assume) that we knew what the other was thinking or that they liked something but never said a word until one day!!!! POOF, the light bulb came on and communication started to flow and now we really do know what the other one is thinking, feeling, likes and dislikes …so much so that more than just a few times, I have walked in the door with dinner and it was exactly what she was going to suggest we go out and get. It is “REALLY” scary sometimes. By the way, I like pep, mushrooms, banana peppers, Jalapenos, and extra cheese. Absolutely “NO” anchovies or black olives. One anchovie in the middle of a pizza will get that nasty stuff all through the entire pizza. I will tolerate Black Olives but they taste like butt lint! Just kidding!!!
